Arab Contractors
It is considered one of the biggest wheat silos in Egypt with a storage capacity 90000 tons with total value 110.680 million EGP for local component and 7 million US$ for foreign component. This project is one of the funded projects by OPEC and the beneficiary is the Egyptian Holding Company for Silos and Storage.
The project comprises 18 cells with a storage capacity 5000tons (total 90000tons); the silos received 200tons/hour. They are linked by upper and lower conveyor belts; the movement of wheat is controlled by PLC and cleaned up by sieve and dust extraction systems in the silos. In addition to these, there is sensors system to preserve the wheat temperature and protect it for a long period.
The project includes an administrative building consists of 3 floors, laboratory, mosque, washing room, number of serving buildings which comprises pumping chamber, buildings of electricity, workshop, spare parts, storehouse; water tank and truck scale “Bascula”. Besides, the project provides business opportunities for the inhabitants of Borg El Arab city and its surroundings.
It decrease the loss which was 10 to 15% of the total amount and it has become 0.02 maximum.
These works was implemented by Alexandria Branch for the civil works and Workshops and Central Factories Department for electromechanical works.
