In 1955, he established the company and transformed it into one of the largest and most respected construction enterprises in the Middle East and Africa, executing landmark projects in roads, bridges, housing, and national infrastructure. Beyond his achievements in business, Eng. Osman also served as Egypt’s Minister of Housing and Reconstruction, where he played a key role in driving the nation’s urban development and the creation of new cities. The Arab Contractors – Osman Ahmed Osman & Co. was founded in 1955 by Eng. Osman Ahmed Osman, and within a few years, it grew to become one of the largest construction companies in the Middle East and Africa. The company began with modest projects in Egypt, later expanding to undertake major works in roads, bridges, housing, and national infrastructure, contributing significantly to the country’s development. In 1961, the company became a national enterprise after joining the public sector, continuing its journey in executing mega projects both inside Egypt and abroad. Since then, it has established itself as a symbol of engineering excellence, commitment, and quality, carrying forward the vision of its founder, who believed that building the nation begins with building people and fostering teamwork.
Eng. Hussien Osman was an esteemed Egyptian engineer and businessman who played a pivotal role in advancing the construction industry in Egypt. As the son of Osman Ahmed Osman, founder of The Arab Contractors Company, he continued his father’s legacy of excellence and national service. Following his father’s passing, Eng. Hussien Osman assumed leadership of the company in 1995, guiding it with vision and integrity until 2001. Under his chairmanship, The Arab Contractors strengthened its reputation for engineering quality and continued to expand its impact both locally and regionally.
Eng. Ismail Osman was a distinguished leader whose profound career blended exceptional technical expertise with powerful organizational vision. Born in 1943, he laid a robust foundation for his career by earning advanced degrees in Construction Management and Engineering Business from Loughborough University, complementing his Civil Engineering degree from Ain Shams University. Rising through the ranks of The Arab Contractors, Eng. Osman served as Chairman of the Board and Senior Advisor to the Osman Group and several affiliated companies. His leadership and influence extended beyond the corporate sphere, significantly impacting academic institutions, professional associations, and the sports sector, notably through his leadership of the Ismaily Sporting Club. A figure of immense national and international stature, he is remembered for his dedication to advancing engineering knowledge, fostering corporate leadership, and his unwavering commitment to community service on both national and global levels.
