Governor Abdel-Mottaleb Amara of Luxor inaugurated the Abu Muslim wastewater pumping station project in the city of Al-Toud, Luxor Governorate. The project was implemented by the Arab Contractors Company, Red Sea branch. The governor was accompanied at the inauguration by Deputy Governor Dr. Hesham Ahmed Abu Zeid, Al-Toud City Council Chairman Ahmed Hassan, Member of Parliament Ahmed El-Dawy, other governorate officials, Major General Ahmed Ramadan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Luxor Drinking Water and Wastewater Company, and Engineer Roqaya Hammad, Head of the Executive Authority of the National Authority for Drinking Water and Wastewater in Luxor, along with the authority's supervisory team in the governorate. They were received by Engineer Yasser Mahsoub Mustafa, Head of the South Valley and Red Sea Sector, Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Alwani, Director of Luxor and Esna Projects, and Engineer Wael Haggag, the project manager. Engineer Wael Haggag explained that the Abu Muslim pumping station is a main station consisting of a 15.5 km gravity sewer network and a 2.84 km force main, with a design capacity of 160 liters per second. The project also includes several buildings, including the pumping station building, the storage facility, the transformer, and the generator. The main building (the pumping station) houses two 80-horsepower submersible pumps, plus a backup pump with a flow rate of 65 liters per second, the main control panel, the electrical panel, measuring instruments, a hydraulic hammer, hoists, and main valves. The station serves approximately 14,000 people at a total cost of 90 million Egyptian pounds. It has been officially commissioned and put into service. At the conclusion of the inauguration, the Governor of Luxor thanked the Arab Contractors Company for the speed with which the work was completed on schedule and for the high quality of the project's execution.
