Amr Abdel Wahab, Chairman and Managing Director of The Egyptian Countryside Development Company, signed a cooperation agreement for the construction and paving of a new strategic asphalt road in the West Minya Plain area. The road extends for more than 82 kilometers at a cost exceeding EGP 540 million, as part of supporting infrastructure development within the National Project for the Reclamation and Development of One and a Half Million Feddans.
The signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Heba Abou El Ela, Vice Chairman of The Arab Contractors, and Eng. Yasser Abdel Aal, Executive Board Member of the company.
The new road aims to connect the Western Assiut Road with the areas of West Minya, Far West Minya, and Darb El Bahnasawe, serving nearly one million feddans allocated to the national project in the governorates of Minya Governorate and Assiut Governorate. The project will also support an internal road network extending approximately 1,800 kilometers. The works include earthworks (excavation and embankment), base layer construction, and asphalt paving with a width of 7.5 meters.
