At 10:00 a.m. today, Friday, 27 February 2026, voting commenced in the first phase of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate midterm elections, which will continue until 5:00 p.m. today. Members of the General Assembly of the Engineers Syndicate are casting their votes to elect union leadership for a new four-year term. The elections include selecting heads of sub-syndicates across the Republic, half of the members of sub-syndicate councils who have completed four-year terms, and half of the members of the engineering divisions’ councils (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Architectural, Mining, Petroleum and Metallurgy, Chemical and Nuclear, and Textile), in accordance with the prescribed representation ratios for each division.
