Cairo Monorail - The New Administrative Capital and 6th of October Lines

Eng. Ahmed El Assar - Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company expressed his pride that the Arab Contractors Company won 5 awards at Big5 Egypt Impact Award 2025. He praised the efforts of all company employees who contributed to this achievement, which is the fruit of their dedicated efforts. He extended his thanks to the teams working on the winning projects, stressing that these awards represent the culmination of a long journey of hard work, engineering innovation, and commitment to international standards in project implementation. Eng. El Assar stressed that the company's winning of the largest number of awards in the competition this year reflects Arab Contractors' leading position and embodies the company's vision to be a role model for quality, leadership, and excellence. This celebration was in the presence of the AC Board Members: Eng. Ahmed El Adalany, Eng. Dina Mohamed Adel Fathy, Eng. Mohamed Elwi, and Eng. Hassan Ibrahim, and a number of company leaders involved in the projects nominated for the awards. The company won “the Contractor of the Year’ award which was received by the AC Board Members. Taha Hussein Bridge project won “the Infrastructure Project of the Year” The project represented a milestone in improving the road network and traffic connectivity, through advanced engineering design and implementation according to the highest technical standards. The award was received by Eng. Khaled Nassar - Deputy Manager of the Bridges and Specialized Structures Department. This is the second time the project Taha Hussein Bridge has been honored, as President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had previously visited the project prior to its inauguration and thanked the workers. The official Page of the spokesman for the Presidency also posted a photo of the President and the workers as part of congratulating Egypt's workers on Labor Day in May 2023. The Visionary Architects at the Technical Support Department also won “Impact Leadership Team of the Year’, the award was received by Eng. Ahmed El Deeb - Manager of the Technical Support Department, and Eng. Sameh Ali - Deputy Manager of the Department. The Greater Cairo Monorail Project also won the project of the year award in the field of electromechanical works “MEP Project of the Year”, reflecting a high level of technological integration and engineering precision in implementing smart and sustainable transportation systems, it was received by Eng. Mohamed Khedr – AC Executive Board Member and Head of the Electromechanical Work Sector. Eng. Ahmed El Adalany – AC Board Member received a special certificate of appreciation from the jury (Highly Commended) in ‘the Director of the Year” category.

-The name of Eng. Hossam El Din Al Rifi was honored at the Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards 2024 ceremony.. Arab Contractors won two awards and two certificates of appreciation in the competition. -Eng. Ahmed El Assar dedicated the prizes to the soul of the company’s deceased, Eng. Hossam El Din Al Rifi, one of its loyal sons. The Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards 2024 ceremony was held in Cairo, to honor the best achievements and building and construction projects in Egypt, with the participation of major contracting companies and consulting offices of various nationalities operating in the Egyptian market. The ceremony began with a special honoring of the name of the late Eng. Hossam El Din Al Rifi - Senior Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, in appreciation of his long and distinguished career in the company and his important contributions to many major projects implemented by the company, the most important of which is Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant and Dam in Tanzania and New Delta Water Treatment Plant, and considering him one of the most important influencers in the construction industry in Egypt. Eng. Ahmed El Assar – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, appreciated honoring the name of Eng. Hossam El Din Al Rifi, one of the company’s loyal sons, as he is one of the company’s pillars and its men who have dedicated their lives so that the company will always remain at the forefront. He also dedicated the awards that the company received this year to his pure soul. He stressed that his name will continue to resonate in the world of contracting as one of the prominent names in this field. The ceremony was held in the presence of the board members of the Arab Contractors Company: Eng. Ayman Attia, Eng. Ahmed El Adalany, Eng. Hassan Moustafa, Eng. Heba Abu Al Ela, Eng. Dina Adel, a number of the AC’s executive board members, and heads of sectors. The Arab Contractors Company won the “Smart City Initiative of the Year” award for the Green Transportation Network of the New Administrative Capital - 'The Monorail & the Light Rail Transit (LRT)', which were implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport (National Authority for Tunnels), to achieve the goals of sustainable development in the New Administrative Capital, to be a smart city, committed to the standards of 4G cities, and an important regional center supporting the Egyptian economy. The award was received by Eng. Hassan Ibraheem – AC Executive Board Member. The project of Greater Cairo Metro Line 3 - Phase 3A & 3B, which was implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport (National Authority for Tunnels), won MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing) Project of the Year. The project was inaugurated recently, and the jury praised it, saying that it represents a prominent achievement in developing infrastructure and decreasing traffic congestion in Cairo and Giza. Besides, there were many project challenges, which the Arab Contractors Company was able to successfully overcome. Those challenges were represented in the complexity and difficulty of work within the scope of the large project, which extends over a length of 17.7 km and in crowded areas with a high population density and vital facilities surrounding the work sites. The award was received by Eng. Abdel Aziz Ahmed – Project Manager of Cairo Metro Line 3 Phase 3. The company also received a special certificate of appreciation from the jury (Highly Commended) in the Contractor of the Year award. Eng. Ahmed El Adalany – AC Board Member also received a Highly Commended Certificate of Appreciation from the jury in the (Director of the Year) category in honor of his efforts, professional career, and contributions to the development of the company’s business inside Egypt and abroad.

Arab Contractors Wins 2 International Awards for Cairo Monorail and Julius Nyerere Dam in Tanzania Arab Contractors won the Liveable City Initiative of the Year award for the East and West Nile Monorail project, implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport, at Big 5 Global Impact Awards 2025 ceremony. This award highlights pioneering projects that directly impact the quality of life in major cities. Greater Cairo Monorail project is considered one of the most important modern projects in the smart transportation sector, contributing to easing traffic congestion, enhancing transportation sustainability, and connecting new urban communities to vital centers in the capital. The judging panel praised the implementation standards, quality of work, and sustainability criteria adhered to by the company. In another achievement, the JV of the Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric received the Highly Commended Award in the Partnership of the Year category for Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant & Dam project in Tanzania, one of the largest energy projects in Africa with a generating capacity of 2115 MW. It includes a main concrete dam 1025 meters long and 130 meters high, 4 saddle dams with a storage capacity of 33 billion m3, a generating station and a 400 kV substation, electricity transmission lines to the public grid, a 660-meter-long water diversion tunnel and a main spillway with 7 gates, an integrated residential complex for engineers and workers, in addition to administrative and control buildings, workshops and facilities. It was implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities in Egypt for the benefit of the Tanzanian Ministry of Energy. This international recognition reflects the extent of engineering cooperation between the 2 companies in implementing a mega-project that serves development in Tanzania, supports the availability of clean energy, and showcases Egypt's capabilities in executing national projects across Africa according to the highest international standards. The awards were received by Eng. Hamdy Farag - Manager of the Arab Contractors Company in Dubai. These awards underscore the prominent position Arab Contractors Company holds regionally and internationally, and its ability to deliver advanced engineering models that contribute to promoting sustainable development and supporting infrastructure in Egypt and African countries.
