Project Description: The bridge passes over 26th of July Street in Zamalek and connects Abu El-Ela Bridge to Zamalek Bridge
Length: 1,000 meters
Width: 16.60 meters
Number of Columns: 39 columns, 25 meters apart
Foundations: (200) hollow piles
Construction Method: The superstructure is made of prestressed concrete, with two types of cables used.
The first type: Dywidag cables, 36 mm diameter, 835/1030 steel, with single bar tendons in the upper and lower slabs.
Type 2: Multiple Strand Tendons Cables. Each cable consists of 12 strands, 0.6 inches in diameter, made of 1570/1770 steel, with a longitudinal beam.
The superstructure was constructed using a deck-pushing system, the first in Egypt, to avoid obstructing traffic on 26th of July Street in Zamalek.
